Max Brenner

Originally from Israel and now has gone international, I find Max Brenner serves one of the best chocolate drinks aside from Lindt and Guylian!

The first Max Brenner chain store that I visited was the one located in the Westfield Shopping Centre at the corner of Pitt Street and Market Street. At that time, I have not the slightest idea about Max Brenner. I only knew that it is just one of those cafes selling chocolate-oriented consumables, similar to Lindt or Guylian. As a chocoholic, of course I knew I couldn't miss the chance to visit the place! And what do you know? I have not the slightest regret for coming there!

Unlike Tom n Toms, I realized Max Brenner's ambiance and lighting  are a lot darker. Not that I have anything against dark places, but I do prefer somewhere with a bit more light. Still, that doesn't seem to be a problem for fellow chocoholic customers to visit the cafe and enjoy their cup of hot chocolates, especially when it is cold and windy outside! However, it might not be a good idea for anyone interested to read their favorite novels while enjoying their cup of chocolates in the store's premises due to the rather dark store lighting.

Also, just like most cafes and chocolate shops, customers are expected to make their chocolate orders from the counter. It is also the place where all assortments of other sweets are being displayed behind the glass case. Some of these sweets includes cookies and several cakes. Hopefully the customers are willing to buy some of these sweets to accompany their flavorful chocolate drinking experience!

My choice of drink was their Hot Dark Chocolate drink, as suggested by one of my companies. If you do a bit of research, apparently dark chocolates are much healthier than any other types of chocolates as it doesn't contain that much sugar. It was a bit of  a challenge for me to order it at first, remembering how much of a sweet tooth I am, but I've decided to give it a try. That was when I realized that was the best decision I've ever made that night.

As a sweet tooth, a have a big fear towards bitter consumables. I have to admit, my first impression when hearing the name of the Hot Dark Chocolate drink was: extremely bitter chocolate drink that I'll ever tasted in my whole life. However, I ended up having a very pleasant surprise instead. The beverage was unexpectedly balanced in flavor: not to sweet, not too bitter, and not too creamy despite the look.  The temperature of the drink isn't that hot either, unlike usual hot beverages. It was served in a right temperature for their customer to immediately enjoy the drink as soon as it arrived on the customer's table. The drink was also served in a unique mug called 'Hugmug', in which customers can place both palms of their hands on both sides of the mug in order for them to feel the warmth of the drink while sipping it slowly down their throats. Considering how windy and chilly the night time could be, I find the Hugmug is one of the greatest inventions for any beverage shop!

I would love to try other menus as well, but since we were a bit in a hurry, I was only able to taste the deliciousness of the Dark Chocolate drink. I would definitely come back to Max Brenner for more though!

SUMINOYA- Wanna try something new??

Suminoya has been known as an authentic charcoal grilled BBQ restaurant since 2000. It's an Japanese style resaurant, which is famous for Yakiniku-fresh, seasoned ingredients such as meat, seafood and vegetables are placed on a mesh and grilled over a direct flame.

What i want recommend today is a fairly special dish-Special Beef Tongue. Yeah, you heard me!!!! Tongue..., OMG, the first time when I saw the name i thought it was terrible. In my mind, the most weird thing i have ever eaten was snake......are you kidding!!! people can eat anything if they want......

Some pictures show the process of how to grill beef tongue:

Raw beef tongue with hot oil, together with the secret ingredients...

(All fresh beef tongue, you will get six pieces of beef tongue in each plate. To tell the truth, i'm not get used to see something raw. you can grill by yourself if you want! After 10 minutes,  sharp aroma came out, it increases people's appetite )
(Tasty and refreshing, actually it's different, that feeling was undescribe....that was good..... it's beef tongue, not bacon...)

(This is the final look of beef tongue, you can also choose some sauce if you like. Personally, I prefer no sauce, cos you can feel the original taste)

Wanna have a try? You won't forget it if you really have a taste of it. By the way, it's not expensive, only $11 per plate

You can find the resaurant at: 1 Hosking Place, Sydney, NSW 2000

Tom n Toms

Originally from Korea, Tom n Toms coffee shop has become one of Sydney's popular hangout spots for everyone to just sit and enjoy their evenings while being accompanied by a cup of relaxing hot or cold beverage.

It was around 9 to 10pm when I and my companies suddenly decided to spend our night drinking some hot cups of beverages as we sheltered ourselves from the chilly wind. We chose to visit Tom n Toms coffee shop as our destination as it was the closest coffee shop that was still open. I was quite surprised to find the shop was still packed with numerous youngsters despite the fact that it was weekday. Nevertheless, we immediately waltzed into the shop because we couldn't stand the freezing weather any longer.

The moment I stepped into the coffee shop, I fell in love with Tom n Toms ambiance immediately. Tom n Toms lighting makes the whole shop seems very warm and cozy; a very comfortable place to just slouch around and relax with a hot cup of tea in hands. I would personally love to stay inside the shop just relaxing as long as I could! No wonder there were still a lot of youths idling around inside the shop even though it was already very late at night!
Cozy lighting!

Tom n Toms drink.

As soon as we got to our seats, I went to order a hot cup of tea, simply because I'm not much of a coffee drinker. I chose to drink rose tea which I find to be a unique tea flavor that you won't be able to find just anywhere!

Rose tea.

The rose tea didn't look any special at first. It looked like a green tea with some rose petals dipped in it. However, I was quick to change my opinion. It amazed me how the tea - even though I left the lid open for more than 20 minutes - remained very hot. I was pleased to still be able to enjoy the hotness of the tea for a long period of time. I was even more pleased by the sweet floral rose scent emitted from the tea every time I sipped the drink. The scent gave off a calming effect which boosts one's tea drinking enjoyment even further! Moreover, the tea cost me only for a mere 3.50AUD! What more can you ask??

In my own preference, I would definitely come back to enjoy more beverages from Tom n Toms the next time I visit the city!

You can find Tom n Toms coffee shop in 97 Bathurst Street  Sydney NSW 2000.

So what's your favorite Tom n Toms beverage?

Doner Kebab

There are many kinds of fast food in the world, today we are going to talk about Doner Kebab which, in my opinion, is one of the most healthy fast food in the world.

Doner Kebab is served wrapped in a flat bread such as a pita. It is a common fast food item in the Middle East, Europe, North America and Australia.

If we open the original kebab and look it inside, we can see many kind of relishes inside. For example, caraway, onion, tomato, cabbage and lamb.

If you want to know how is it feel, I could only say its taste is really like what you are seeing on the package, "tasty", and awesome too. I would really recommend everyone to have a try if you want !!

By the way, although I think it seems like a quite healthy fast food, it should not replace your daily meal, it is only a bonus when you really want to have a try on that after all !!

Restaurant of Feelings Tian Tong- Traditional Chinese Food

Tian Tong- the name of the restaurant, is originated from a road name in ShangHai, China. Although it's a new restaurant in Australia, the reputation of it spread all over China.

What I want to recommend now are two pieces of dishes in Tian Tong:

1. Poached Sliced Beef in Spicy & Pungent Sauce

(Seems very greasy, right? But when you try it, it's really tasty and of course spicy----Don't try it if you can't handle spicy food, I'm serious!!!)

2. Shanghai Style Smoked Fish in Soy Sauce

(Someone may ask me what kind of fish is it? Well, as far as I know, it's not salmon. Wanna konw? Go and check by yourself!!!)

These two dishes are pretty good, you guys wanna start a food tour? Start from the Chinese Restaurant-Tian Tong. By the way, I'm not doing advertisment!!!!

Gossips--one of the best value wines

There are various wines in the Australian market and everyone have their own choice for that. Today we're going to talk about Gossips.

Gossips is one of the best value wines in the Australian wine market! It is one of my favourite wine brands as well.

Gossips Pink Moscato is the new svelte in 2012. It is full of fruity flavours of cherry and strawberry and low alcohol, which feels fresh and sweet without bitter after taste. This wine is the perfect wine to be enjoyed any time of the day. Girls prefer to drink the fruit wine and love the sweet taste. We promise you that this wine can help you to enjoy a lazy day during the holiday with you friends or lover.

The other wine we will recommend is Gossips Moscato Sweet Lipes. This wine has slight musk aromas with fruity flavours of peach, pear and apple. If people feel Pink Moscato is too sweet in test, the swet lipe is  much suitable for them.We think this is the great example of the popular moscato style in such a low price. One of our friend said that she loves Gossips as it is one of the best - not only because of the fantastic price but fantastic taste!
