Sushi Tengoku
Sushi Tengoku might not be a big restaurant, but every customer who has dined in Sushi Tengoku always leaves the place with a big grin on their faces. Sushi Tengoku is definitely a must-stop-by restaurant for any sushi eater in Sydney!
The first time I dined in Sushi Tengoku, I was very appaled by the crowd inside the restaurant. One can definitely tell the place itself doesn't look that great. Interior looks very mediocre, and I could only see maximum of two waitresses running around taking orders and serving the foods the entire time I was there. To be honest, my first impression of Sushi Tengoku wasn't very great. However, as soon as my foods have arrived on the table, I was quick to change my mind!
I'm not a fan of wasabi. In fact, I despise wasabi with all of my heart, despite knowing the goodness and importance of eating wasabi to kill of the germs when eating raw foods, especially sashimi. That is why, when I ordered my foods to the waitress, I was very pleased when she gave me the option to seperate the wasabi from the foods that originally should have included wasabi in it. This option makes it very convenient for people like me or for the people who loves to eat wasabi when enjoying their meals. It certainly saved me the hassle from having to scrape the wasabis from each and every single foods before I could enjoy them!
The first food that came to my table was Asaburi Oyster. The oysters were very soft and sweet, and the rice below the oysters were firm and sweet as well! The mayonnaise sauce has to be my favourite part! It spreads in my mouth as soon as I placed it on my tongue as its slightly creamy sourness complements the sweetness of the oysters. I lost count as to how many I have eaten the oysters that night, but they were really addicitve!
My last menu, gyoza, was very pleasantly surprising! Unlike any other gyozas that I have eaten before, Sushi Tengoku's gyoza resembles more towards a xiao long bao: both dishes contain a spoon size of soup and pork meat as the fillings! However, unlike xiao long baos, Sushi Tengoku's gyoza have a thin yet crispy texture for its outer layer. The taste of each gyoza is not that intense, allowing the consumer to finish all 7 gyozas without having to feel tired of it! Perfect for your afternoon snack!
For drinks, my and my companions were given ocha, or tea, as complementary instead of tap water! As a tea-addict, I was surely pleased by the complementary beverage! Customers can even ask for re-fills without having to pay additional charges!
Lindt
Aside from Max Brenner, another chocolate paradise that Australians should visit is Lindt Chocolate cafe!
Lindt Chocolate cafe has a wide range of chocolate assortment menus to please their chocoholic customers. Starting from cakes, parfaits, and beverages, Lindt spoils their customers with the chocolate goodness that one could ever wish for!
As usual, I always love to visit cafes when the weather is chilly outside, especially at night. My eyes were fixed to Lindt Chocolate cafe at that particular night as I stroll around Darling Harbour. Without delaying any further, I ordered a hot dark chocolate drink from the counter. Soon after, a waitress came to my table while bringing a tray filled with an empty cup, a small pot of thick chocolate, a small pot of white coloured steamy drink, and a single wrapped chocolate to be eaten seperately from the drinks.
Although I personally prefer Max Brenner's hot dark chocolate drink, Lindt's dark chocolate drink has a certain essence of unforgettable sweetness that wouldn't seem to leave one's mouth! My favourite part when drinking the warming beverage was the white coloured drink ( which I would assume to be steamed milk? )that is to be poured alongside the thick chocolate into the cup. The white coloured drink compliments the sweetness and the thickness of the chocolate, making the drink feels very light in the consumer's mouth. All in all, I was able to re-fill my cups 3 times with the chocolate and white drink provided! In all honesty, I think 3 cups weren't enough to satisfy my thirst for a nice, warm, Lindt chocolate that night!
I also personally adore Lindt's cafe outdoor interior. It lets the customers to enjoy the cold night breeze while drinking a hot beverage outside. Customers are also able to look at performances and sometimes some fireworks on Saturday night when sitting outside of Lindt cafe! Customer who likes to sit outdoors and who is also a chocoholic HAVE to come to Lindt Chocolate cafe branch in Darling Harbour for a magnificent view especially at night!
